What is Virtual Reality
As the name Suggest – Virtual => The thing which is not physically present or real.
Reality => the state of things as they actually exist.
so Virtual Reality, is an artificial environment, generated via computer, which feels like real.
A person using virtual reality equipment is typically able to “look around” the artificial world, move about in it and interact with features or items that are depicted on a screen or in goggles.
Why Virtual Reality for Event Management
With the advancement of technology, Virtual and augmented reality are changing the way that organizers, sponsors and vendors engage with attendees at events.
With so much potential, VR have the ability to change the way we discuss, attend, and interact at events.
No, matter be the case, let it be to educate the audience regarding the product or let it be, the goal is to gather the anticipation data of audience /customers for soon to be released product?… VR is applicable is everywhere…
It will be more clear by following Case Studies :-
For eg : –
1) Budweiser Beer Garage:
During 2016 SXSW, Anheuser Busch’s, did an experimental campaign, consisting full on Budweiser- Beer Garage.
In this event Participants were given a full tour of the Budweiser’s brewing plant, using Oculus VR headsets, engaging all of their five senses.
During Campaign, participants taking the tour, when entered in the refrigeration section of the Budweiser plant (Virtually), cold air was blown into the room for a realistic effect. Similarly, when Virtual tour took them to the hops room, Budweiser employees would hold a jar of hops under the participant’s nose so they knew what the room actually smells like.
So this entire experience helped participants to know the entire brewing process, and can develop a deeper understanding of the product and brand.
Bosch Xperience Mobile Tour:
With the help of VR, now it is easier to teach audience, about a company’s product or services.
Bosch, one of the world’s leading engineering companies, did the same to promote their gasoline direct injection system (GDI) and quiet cast brakes. They did a Road Show event in which they spent approx seven months on the road meeting with thousands of auto technicians to educate them on properly implementing Bosch’s quiet cast brakes and GDI system.
And it was done via Oculus Rift as immersive experience, placing the technicians in repair scenarios in which they had to use Bosch’s automotive parts.
So via this event, they used VR to educate their audience.
So as you can see… How VR can be beneficial in Events, helping attendees to learn, feel and understand about your product and services.
